Use Account name for the Guild Roster
I think this has been suggested before, but now more than ever it can be done.
If you notice, if someone joins a guild and they delete the character they joined under, they will be off line permanently and they cannot be re-invited by that name either.
My proposition is that the account name be used for guild rosters, simply because it makes sense. Given that the Hero battles uses the same system, I suppose it wouldn't be too hard (if the account name is universal).
In short: Use Hero Battles "Account Name" for the Guild and Alliance Roster.

What if you don't currently have an account name? I know I haven't made one yet.
I like the idea though.

Or; if someone deletes that character, it should update to the character most recently logged-in.
I also think it would be great if you could select a member and see all their alt characters and related professions and levels.

Then it uses the current system. But if you have an account name set it the friends list, guild roster, guild chat and alliance chat* will display your account name and if its different to the name of your current character it displays the characters name in brackets.
*Especially alliance chat, as with the guild chat you can always hover over their name on the roster to see the character they were invited with.

As long as it would work like this...
Rurik Jangeer (Leukas Brighteye)
The Rurik Jangeer part being the acc name and the Leukas being the character I am currently playing... then /signed
If it is already explained like this earlier, I apologize. Its late and im tired.

The main good thing of this is that if you change the name, the name in theooster woul change too.
But It would be a good idea to make it say in the popp description, along with the name of the one who invited the player:
Invited as <Name of the player when invited>, on <date> by <Name of the inviting player>

In short, there just needs to be a NON UNIQUE naming system for accounts. The "email name" should never be used, that's sensative information.

Its a good idea i guess. But a bit useless. My main character and account name are identical, hence i was invited into the guild using that name, it shows your invited name anyway if you move over it so... seems likely to cause more problems than it fixes, not like theres anything particularly broken about the current system.

I agree with BR, and /sign the use of the account name for most things where other people need to see your name.

I half expected this change when they announced the account names thing and was disappointed when they didn't. Would certainly make things easier.

With 10 characters having no similarities in their names, it's hard for my guild to keep track of them, and even more so for the alliance who can't hover over my name.

I actually dont care for this idea. Reason why is that i named my account after my pvp name but I want my name to be displayed as the name i created guild with. Also it doesnt matter how many chars you have. If you hover over there name it will say also x char. So its kinda pointless since you can already see who that person is.

But the account name won't show anywhere, only the current name and the name of the invited character.
This way the rooster will show your account name and the popup message ythe name of you invited character and your current character.
